Aberdeen Youth Games

The children in Room 9 P4 were really fortunate to be asked to represent Kingsford School at this years Aberdeen Youth Games.  We had an early start, leaving school at 8:30, in order to arrive at the Sports Village ready for our first event: Basketball.  We were shown into the big hall where there were lots of stations with children practising differrent basketball skills.  It was good fun but there was no time to rest and it was thirsty work.  At the basketball shooting station we were helped out by Leigh Fawcett, Scotlands Hockey Captain!

Next we went to the huge indoor pitch for games of tag and football.  This made us really thirsty!  Then it was down and out onto the 400m running track which we walked around 3 times!!! for the opening Ceremony.

After lunch we played tennis and rugby which were great fun, especially the rugby tackling skills on the big soft mats.  Before we got on the bus, exhausted from all the sport, we were presented with our medals.  What a busy, tiring and fun day it was.
