Science in Room 7

In Room 7, we have been exploring how to chemical reactions take place.  We have made a balloon inflate by mixing vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to create carbon dioxide, which is what we breathe out to blow up a balloon.  Today, we made a lava lamp with oil, water, food colouring, and a vitamin c tablet. The vitamin c tablet mixed with the water which made carbon dioxide that pushed the coloured water up through the oil. The more of the vitamin c tablet we used the more it moved.  We loved doing this experiment and some of us want to do it again at home!
