Watch Out! Dinosaurs About!

In Room 3 we have recently been learning all about dinosaurs and we would love to show you some of our work. We have learnt about the three periods; Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous and which dinosaurs lived in each period. There were so many dinosaurs but we have chosen a few to look at in detail; Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus and Diplodocus.

 

Our wall display shows how dinosaurs are included in lots of our subject areas such as computing, literacy and art.

 

 

 

Art

We made Diplodocus’ using paper plates and they were so long that some didn’t even fit on our page! We also added facts and some onomatopoeia words showing the sounds we would have heard if a Diplodocus was about.

Literacy and Technology

Comic strips are a fantastic way to tell a story so we decided to create our own. Instead of drawing each picture we used the dinosaur land we had created to set the scenes. Using a camera we took 6 photographs to show what would be happening in our comic strip. We then stuck our printed photographs in order and added speech bubbles, thought bubbles and onomatopoeia words to complete our comic strips.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As well as our comic strips we also wrote our own story books about our dinosaur adventures! Our story books have a front cover, the story with a picture and a blurb.
