Problem Solving in Room 3

This week we tried something new with maths. After we had finished our normal number jobs we tried some problem solving questions for the first time…

We had to share 14 pumpkins into boxes of 2 and work out how many boxes we would need all together. First of all we drew out the 14 pumpkins before drawing boxes round pairs of two. Once every pumpkin had fit into a box, we counted how many boxes we had used. Before we knew it we had worked together to do a division sum!
