Girls’ Cricket – Kingsford play RGC
On Thursday 30th May 2019, eight P6 girls from Kingsford School went to Countesswells Playing Fields to play Pairs Cricket against Robert Gordon’s College (RGC). This was Kingsford’s first Cricket match against another school, having only attended annual festivals in the past. Many of the girls from Kingsford were a bit nervous about playing, knowing the exact rules etc but they had nothing to worry about, as the RGC girls made us very welcome and even helped us out with some fielding since they had more players than us.
It was a great opportunity for our pupils to play on brilliant grounds and with fantastic equipment.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side! It poured of rain the entire time but none of the girls from either school complained, showing fantastic resilience. The good news is it didn’t put our girls off as they’ve been asking for more games. Fingers crossed this is something we can do more of next year.
