P4s have been learning about medicine safety
Over the past two weeks, P4 ZC & JR have been investigating different kinds of medicine and vitamins. They learned some new vocabulary like ‘dosage’ and ‘caution’ and learned how to read labels to check if they were for children, adults, or animals, what they were for, and how many to take. In the last lesson, they came up with some fabulous ‘bossy tips’ on how to be safe with medicine. Here are just a few:
- Do not share medicine!
- Check the warning on the packet!
- Don’t take too much medicine!
- Keep your medication up high!
- Check how many you need per day / Check the dosage!
- Do not take medicine you don’t need!
- Keep out of reach of children!
- Don’t take anything if you don’t know what it is!
- Put your medicine in the fridge if it says to!
- Don’t take more than the dosage on the packet unless the doctor says so!
- Always take the right dosage of medicine and for the right amount of time!
- Do not give animals medicine for people!
- Do not give people animal medicine!
- Be careful taking tablets so you don’t choke on them!
- Always take tablets with water!
