More beautiful tile work but this time it is abstract – a pattern rather than a picture. This art is way more complex than the Roman mosaics, with repeating geometric designs . And these works of art were not just for the floor…

The Alhambra, or Red Fort, in Spain, has walls over 1 mile long, 30 towers and yet being also a castle, only 4 gateways. While it looks plain on the outside, inside it is a different matter. The Alhambra is famous for the beautiful geometric Islamic art and architecture kept safe within the walls. The Khan Academy link will show you more if you’re interested.
