More than just maths

In Room 3 we have been working very hard, getting to know our numbers up to 100. It has been tricky as there are quite a lot of them! We have been practising putting them in the right order; knowing which comes before, after and between, and have been working out how many tens and units each number has. This week we have been looking at comparing numbers and finding which one is bigger or smaller than the other.

When we were doing this, we learned about two new maths signs to help us compare numbers – greater than and less than signs. We noticed that these signs look quite like crocodiles, and learned that the greedy crocodile always eats the biggest number. We practised using the new signs with our very own class crocodile!
