Blue for the Loo: Toilet Twinning
Last year, we took part in Toilet Twinning at Kingsford School on May 4th 2017. Everyone came to school wearing blue and we played games, had fun, sang songs and wrote poems related to toilet twinning.
We wanted to raise money for the 2.3 billion people in the world who did not have toilets and proper sanitation. We managed to raise a whopping £420 for the school, thanks to everyone’s generosity 😉 This meant that we were able to build SEVEN new toilets across the world for those who didn’t have them before. This improvement in sanitation enables more children to attend school. Our twinning certificates are now proudly on show in each of our school toilets. They include GPS coordinates so that the exact location can be found on a map. If you think these new toilets look basic, imagine having to use what was available before. Now there is privacy, safety and dignity for everyone.
Thanks everyone.
